Disney

Okay. To start off, I want to talk about the objectification of women. I think this is a HUGE issue. Take a look at this website (http://www.rehabs.com/explore/dying-to-be-barbie/#.Unc2X3BBNAo) if you are interested in this. But basically, girls are becoming anorexic. And yes, while some boys now have eating disorders, it is mostly girls.

Why? Let me start off at the beginning. What girls see at a young age. In no particular order...
Disney
Ariel: After Ariel asks how she can the Prince fall in love with her, Ursula says 'You'll have your looks! Your pretty face! And don't underestimate the importance of body language'. Ursula also says 'It's much preferred for ladies not to say a word' 'it's she who holds her tongue who gets her man'. And ALTHOUGH many people like to show the sexism in the movie by discussing that she gives up everything for a man (which, by the way, is not true, as she wanted to be a human before she met him), what is more important is the objectification of Ariel. First off, she has to attract him WITHOUT her voice. Even though he thinks he is in love with the voice he heard on the beach, he still tries to kiss her. All she does is look pretty. And smile. Take a look at the way they show her body.

I wonder what I am supposed to be looking at in that picture? The waves? The rock? Her tiny waist? Breasts? Her Hair? Hmmm...

Jasmine: Yeah. Her character is TOTALLY all about personality. Not even... like... her hot body. Not at all.

Belle:Some may argue that she is the best role model for young girls out of the Disney characters. After all, she is everything women should be.Kind to animals, quiet, beautiful. What more could a man want??? (NOTE. Again the breasts are a pretty important feature in this photo)

And BTW, that huge eye thing, the story behind that is really creepy.
Take a look at this picture below. This is the size of a woman's eyes. Comparethe image of Emma Watson (who many regard as very pretty) to Belle. Belle's eyes are BIGGER THAN HER NOSE. Emma's eyes are so much smaller.
You want to know why they made Belle's eyes so big? Because big eyes make women look like babies. It makes you protective of them because they look like a child. In fact,EVERY Disney princess has the face of a child, a tiny waist, hips and boobs. Let's just consider this again. People want to have sex with you if you look like a baby.Mind boggling. You know why you buy mascara? Eyeliner? False eyelashes? To make your eyes look bigger and to make you look more like a baby.
To sum it up, young girls watch these movies all the time. They idolize these princesses, and dress up as them. And maybe this little girl will realize that she does not look as pretty as Ariel.

What happens then? Anorexia? Wearing makeup at 12 years of age? Or even if it is not that extreme, she will spend the rest of her life living with the idea that she is simply not that attractive. Princess stories are fun for little girls. What is NOT fun is the sexualization of women in Disney's princess movies, because subconsciously this affects the minds of the young viewers.
